Usakhelauri is an extremely rare grape found only in two villages in the Lechkhumi region: Okureshi and Zubi. The grapes are characterized by a high acidity and sweetness. An ideal condition to produce medium sweet wine of the highest quality. After planting the vines, the first exploitable fruits thrive at the earliest after 6-7 years. The cultivation of this type of wine in the mountain landscape Lechkhumis essentially means hard physical work. The yield is very low. For this reason, the production has been stopped in the 70s. Usakhelauri was threatened with extinction in the 1980s. Usakhelauri Vineyard, founded in 2001, started to grow this unique grape variety at the root of its origin - in Okureshi. Thus, after a break of 40 years, the serial production of Usakhelauri was restored in 2009.
Brilliantly staged, mysterious futuristic design, paired with noble single bottle packaging. Each bottle has its own, hand-signed number and a unique passport marked with the corresponding bottle number.
The Usakhelauri is corpulent with dark ruby red color, rich in tannins, outstandingly charming aroma with unique taste and long-lasting finish. Harmonious balance of sweetness and acidity.
